Students

The Goldman Center for Student Accessibility has a process in place for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students who wish to be considered for reasonable accommodations; these accommodations are designed to create equitable access for students with disabilities in the Tulane community. Students, including those registered in online programs, can request accommodations at any time. However, the process can sometimes take several weeks, so submit your request for accommodations as soon as you can.

You may request accommodations at any point during the semester, but accommodations are not retroactive and may be subject to logistical considerations for implementation. Each semester, you will need to activate your accommodations and schedule your accommodated exams and quizzes through the Goldman Portal. Please note that Canvas exams that you are planning to take with The Goldman Testing Center must be scheduled through the portal as well.

For incoming fall semester students, we recommend beginning the process in the summer before your arrival on campus. Incoming spring semester students may begin this process in the summer or fall before arrival.

On the request for accommodations form (application), we will ask you to tell us about the access barriers and the disability(ies) you are seeking accommodations for, what (if any) your accommodation history has been, and how the requested accommodations would help to remove barriers you may be facing in the academic, housing, or dining environments on campus.

The tabs on this page detail pertinent information about addressing accessibility barriers at Tulane University.

Report a Concern

If you believe you have been discriminated against based on a disability, your complaint will be handled by Tulane's Office of Institutional Equity in a manner consistent with Tulane's Equal Opportunity/Anti-Discrimination Policies. Report a concern, incidence of discrimination, or accessibility barrier through the Office for Campus Accessibility.

Information about the interactive process, accommodation determination appeals, and additional support for grievances can be found on our website.
