Anticipated Timeline

The Goldman Center for Student Accessibility is processing a high volume of requests for disability-based accommodations. As such, the process between application submission and receipt of determination can take several weeks.

We strive to respond to new applications within 5-business days with information regarding next steps. 

  • If you have provided sufficient documentation for your request, you will be sent an invitation to self-schedule your Access Interview, either in-person or virtually, with a member of our team. 
  • If you do not have sufficient documentation submitted along with your accommodation request, you will be reminded to provide supporting medical documentation to supplement your request. 

The timeline for this interactive process depends on our meeting availability and specific request. We are processing a high volume of requests, so meeting availability may be out several weeks. The availability present in the Calendly link sent to your email reflects the most current availability for meetings for your specific request.

Once you have your Access Interview with a team member, please allow up to 10-15 business days to process your request for academic accommodation. This timeline may be delayed depending on a need for consultations through a fundamental alteration exploration related to your specific request.

NOTE: A failure to respond to our request for additional information or failure to self-schedule your Access Interview may delay your application processing. Applications from students who are unresponsive to our reminders will be archived, but students may contact our office to re-open their application at any point.

Application Deadlines

A student may request an accommodation at any point in their Tulane career. However, specific accommodations have specific deadlines that we adhere to in order to support logistical functioning of their implementation. Housing accommodations and accommodation support for absences/tardiness, registration time ticketing, and certain support in the foreign language requirement have associated priority deadlines.

Application Timeline Considerations for Housing Accommodations
 

JANUARY 17, 2025 is the PRIORITY DEADLINE FOR REQUESTING HOUSING ACCOMMODATIONS BEFORE FALL 2025 ROOM SELECTION.

Housing accommodation requests are processed through the Goldman Center in conjunction with the Housing Accommodation Committee, an interdepartmental group consisting of relevant campus partners who review your request for accommodation support at Tulane. The Committee meets on the first Friday of every month. 

Please allow until at LEAST the second Friday of the month for a housing accommodation determination to be processed and rendered.

In sum, from the time of your application submission, your request may take anywhere from one to six weeks to process, depending on appointment availability and the volume of requests. The Goldman Center is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Central Standard time. As such, please exclude weekends from this timeline. Any contact to our office over the weekend or University closures will be responded to as soon as possible once business operations have resumed.
